Often, music just flows. For Aussie outfit Wandering Blind, art is a stream of personal storytelling slowly wrapping the listener into a warm, relatable hug. The talented duo has been making a name for themselves since last year, debuting with the rocky/indie gem ‘Candidate’. Earlier this month, they returned for what’s the most poignant and heartwarming release to date.
‘Rain & Snow’ represents a definite step for Wandering Blind, in our opinion. In it, we can appreciate the nuances of their refined songwriting, put into action through tender acoustic settings. Channelling a hypnotic blend of Coldplay and U2, ‘Rains & Snow’ is a worthy listen, especially for lead singer’s Jack Holt evocative, deep vocals.
Describing the process behind writing the song, Holt explains: “I moved to Australia when I was 14, so half my formative years were split across two continents. The song is about everything that disappeared when we relocated and how there’s a part of me that still resides in our old semi-detached house in Shaw.”
