Marcus McCoan Teases His Debut With ‘Try Me’ Live Performance

It’s punchy, fierce material: balancing gritty and eclectic guitars over electro-pop beats, McCoan is able to draw a pretty peculiar picture: as if his unique artistic identity was reversed on a piece of music. What’s more, we are met with world-class songwriting, enhanced by evocative, precise vocals. Marcus McCoan’s ‘Try Me’ is everything you could ever want a pop gem to be. Of course, we wouldn’t expect anything less from the Cornish talent: although he’s grinding his project to the top, he’s already ‘part of the top’, having co-written hits for K-pop sensation BTS, among others.

Things are ripening for him on all fronts. If his songwriting activities have already ‘arrived’, as one might say, his artistic aspirations are quickly becoming reality too. ‘Try Me’ anticipates a UK-wide tour supporting 90s hero Natalie Imbruglia, gently navigating the project to the 18th of November, the day of the release of McCoan’s debut single ‘Phase Me’.

In the meantime though, we’ll happily enjoy ‘Try Me’. Framed into a live performance setting, the song comes alive in a dark and mysterious video, where we catch glimpse of things to come: poignant guitar solos over modern beats and pumping synthesisers. Sounds good to us!
