Enjoy Lush and Warm Sounds in The Lonely Together’s ‘City Lights’

Edinburgh-based dream rockers, The Lonely Together, have just released their beautifully romantic new single called ‘City Lights’. The song is a re-recording of Mike Baillie’s “tender ode to love”, and is a rich and warm tune with lush string arrangements performed by The Cairn String Quartet. Another musical guest on ‘City Lights’ is Scott Kelman, drummer for The Little Kicks. The track gently builds itself up from a soft acoustic guitar and Baillie’s enchanting vocals to a full-on cinematic piece, as The Lonely Together leave it all on the table for those of us who are lucky enough to connect with the song.

Working alongside songwriter, guitarist, and producer Rod Jones (Idlewild) at Post Electric Studios, the band believes that ‘City Lights’ serves as the perfect bridge to connect their debut LP to their forthcoming opus ‘Endless Sunset Oblivion’.

I have to say…I’ve fallen extremely hard for ‘City Lights’. It is one of the richest, warmest, and most beautifully produced tunes I’ve heard in a while. Don’t be surprised if it gets picked up to be in a soundtrack. It just has that feel to it. Bring on ‘Endless Sunset Oblivion’!

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘City Lights’ on Spotify now:
