That seems to be a common theme for the English troubadour, firmly committed to acoustic gems and highly meaningful nuggets of heartwarming goodness. ‘Satellites’ is the perfect evidence of that; Worcester Ground’s latest effort, the record is as expressive as it could be.
Built on expansive piano chords and several orchestral soundscapes, ‘Satellites’ is inherently cinematic and dreamy, wrapping listeners into a fragile yet wholesome stream of elegance and emotional energy. At its most basic level, the single could be defined as pop music, yet it’s much more, an honest, authentic slice of relatable and reflective songwriting, straight from Worcester Ground’s imaginative and vulnerable artistry. What more could you wish for?
With ‘Satellites’, Aaron Yorke – the talented human behind the project – pays a heartfelt tribute to his late mother and his living brother, in what is “an exploration of loss, grief, and the unbreakable bond between family members, capturing the essence of searching for signs of departed loved ones in the vast expanse of the night sky.”
