Dax Shares Striking Video for ‘i hate that i love you’

Boasting millions of followers, Dax has slowly emerged as an alternative figure in the hip-hop world. It’s easy to see why listeners are attracted to his lyricism: the Wichita-based rapper often focuses on meaningful imagery and themes, looking at life from the perspective of a modern man, a perhaps flawed and honest being dealing with personal growth and resilience. ‘i hate that i love you’ is the perfect evidence of that.

While the song was originally contained in Dax’s December album ‘From A Man’s Perspective’, the track now gets a new lease of life thanks to a captivating video, something that’s almost a tradition in the project’s visual universe. Exploring “the complexities of intimate relationships and the challenges of parenthood”, ‘i hate that i love you’ takes a stark look at the difficulties of dealing with a broken romantic partnership and the custody of a child, something that many out there are likely to be very familiar with.

Erick Dillon is the producer responsible for the beat behind the single, together with Dax himself. The video was shot in Missoula, Montana, and contains a cliffhanger at the end, with a ‘to be continued…’ disclaimer. Interesting!
