The Italian-Greek songstress knows it well, wrapping the record into anthemic, club-oriented alt-pop reminiscent of Robyn and CHVRCHES, among others. Her vocals are incredibly luscious and impassionate, allowing the listeners to fully resonate with the single’s empowering lyricism. In a way, The Kountess is dealing with pain through fierceness.
Delving into the inspiration behind the song, she explains: “Backstage Nostalgia is about being tired of feeling broken but refusing to let that define you. Pain changes us, but it doesn’t get to lead our story. We are the main characters of our own lives, and no struggle can take the spotlight away from our dreams.”
