The keen reader might remember Cubicore. Writing about one of his remixes (‘Destination’) not long ago, we proudly declared it “a cosmic, hypnotising blend of trance breakdowns and ever-evolving arpeggiators, an absolute gem”. Now, the Ukrainian DJ and sonic alchemist returns with his latest effort, a dazzling, evocative and hard-hitting trance tune that’s as intense as it is colourful.
Featuring Nazzereene’s luscious, anthemic vocals, ‘Sirens’ is an unexpected jewel, a slice of haunting charisma and nostalgic catharsis. While the record is decisively club-oriented and fast-paced, the listening experience is welcoming and approachable, and frankly, we truly enjoyed it. Perhaps that’s because the songwriting and the melodies are so enticing, allowing Cubicore’s multi-faceted artistry to shine bright in its purest form.
Promising even bigger things for the rest of 2025, the talented DJ and producer seems to be in the form of his life, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him. Diving deeper into the inspiration behind ‘Sirens’, vocalist Nazzereene explains: “This track is like a tiny movie playing in your head. My Arabic roots naturally shaped the melody, adding an exotic touch to the siren’s call.”
