Our introduction to the sounds of BERENICE came last year with her fiery rock ‘n’ roll gem ‘Little Red Heart’. It was the Italian-born songstress’ debut single, and we proudly declared the tune as “intense, powerful, and seriously infectious”.
In truth, we’ve been a bit desperate to hear from BERENICE again given our love for her debut.
And, fortunately, she delivered in stunning fashion last Friday with ‘Forgot To Love You’, a striking sophomore release that takes listeners on an entirely new sonic adventure.
Leaning into a much more gentle and introspective sound, BERENICE has said that ‘Forgot To Love You’ is actually more like “three songs in one, mirroring the loss of control over love and guilt”. She’s right! It definitely has a cinematic ebb and flow and a sense of grandeur.
Unfolding in waves until its eventual crash, ‘Forgot To Love You’ is a truly bold and powerful debut follow-up. It showcases an artist who can seamlessly navigate genres and styles, making each new release all the more thrilling to hear!
‘Little Red Heart’ has already reached over 30,000 plays on Spotify, and I’m certain ‘Forgot To Love You’ is heading in a similar direction.
