Bart Thiede Debuts with Unique, Challenging Piece ‘Dust’

‘Dust’ is truly one of the most unique records we have come across in a while. It surely doesn’t fit in a single genre, and it’s certainly not mainstream. Instead, it champions a peculiar sonic livery, one that’s strictly intertwined with Bart Thiede’s own identity. Of Irish and Polish origins, the talented creative has all the right cards to build something remarkable, and so he does. Blending folk and celtic tones with ethereal, cathartic Slavic chants, ‘Dust’ requires the listeners to be bold and attentive, ready for an unconventional, overwhelming sonic bath.

Introduced by long soundscapes and traditional instruments – such as celtic guitars, whistles, and a bodhrán – ‘Dust’ slowly blooms into an intense Enya-like masterpiece, constantly adding vocal layers with tenderness and mystical character. Gearing up for an upcoming album, Thiede seeks to pose the cornerstone to what so far has been a compelling artistic vision. We are confident it will work.

Speaking further about the inspiration behind the song’s lyricism, the Oxford-based musician explains: “It’s rooted in childhood fears revisited with the wisdom of adulthood – a theme that will be expanded further in the album”. ‘Dust’ is not your average single, same as Bart Thiede is not your average artist – we look forward to hearing more.
