House Prodigy CRYME and Berlin Imprint SEVEN Team Up on ‘HOLD ON’

We never shy away from a good dance record, especially when it’s made with good taste and elegance. ‘Hold On’ by CRYME is exactly that, an irresistible dive into classic house vibes and techno euphoria. The soul-lenient vocal samples are pretty iconic, reminding us of the house classic of the late 80s/early 90s. There’s retro character in it, but there’s also modernity: all those references are processed by CRYME into a pretty shiny and contemporary package.

Released by Berlin-based, queer and FLINTA* leaning label SEVEN, ‘Hold On’ is out now on vinyl together with four additional remixes from Cinthie, Obscure Shape, Lydia Eisenblätter and VOLPE. The constant battle between house and techno here it’s intentional, paying tribute to the German capital and its long history of club dominance. Anyway: we are pretty content with the original mix, although the pure, unfiltered house feeling in the Cinthie remix also deserves attention.

We are probably more comfortable with house music (especially with Lydia Eisenblätter jacking remix) rather than techno, but as the saying goes, De gustibus. All we know is that this is a record worth getting.
