Judging by the comments under their latest live session – all asking for more music – Honey I’m Home are certainly on the right path. A Dutch-based project, the group champions the haziest of shoegaze, crafting indie-laden gems with an incredibly contemporary livery. They visited the UK back in December, playing a few gigs and recording a spooky yet interesting live session in a very particular location: The Elm Tree House, located at 13 Netherhall Gardens, Hampstead.
Such a house is wrapped in ghostly tales and spiritual folklore, giving Honey I’m Home a worthy background where their expansive, vibrant material truly comes alive. In the session, now out on YouTube, they perform three unreleased pieces: ‘Stop Sign’, Wishful Thinking’ and ‘Happiness’. Shot with truly leftfield photography – matching the location’s reputation – the video is worth a watch and a listen, especially because we get the feeling Honey I’m Home are about to become the next big thing… wouldn’t you agree?
