ZIFR Shares Electrifying Techno Banger ‘Radiation’

ZIFR is adamant in referring to techno czar Boris Brejcha as one of his biggest influences. It makes a lot of sense: analysing ‘Radiation’ with that in mind, it’s clear how much he’s been learning in regards to nuanced synth work and gloomy, cathartic electronic atmospheres. Hailing from India, the young talented producer has been working on this record with religious diligence, and the result is impressive.

Yes, the technical aspects of it are near perfect: that is the production itself, the mix… but it is on the creative side where ZIFR truly stands out. The way he’s able to arrange fading textures and noisy effects is masterful, making for a listening experience that’s never boring or obvious. The addition of sampled spoken words makes ‘Radiation’ even more special, giving the whole record an electrifying feel.

ZIFR is happy to tell us why: “‘Radiation’ is inspired by the chaos and haunting legacy of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The track’s structure mirrors the intensity of the event, capturing the tension, confusion, and resilience born out of catastrophe.” The final results match that idea well, making for a techno piece that’s rewarding and evocative.
