Carlos Ucedda came bouncing into our world earlier this year when we first encountered his atmospheric and psychedelic tune ‘Secret Relief’. Since then, we’ve kept a close eye (and ear) on the Granada-based artist and were even fortunate enough to interview Ucedda. Today, however, I’d like to dive into his brand new single ‘Garden of Letters’, a synth-drenched and hypnotic piece of music you simply melt into.
In signature Ucedda fashion, Carlos leans heavily into the aura of the 80s and 90s in all its splendour. Dreamy, upbeat and full of life, I dare say that ‘Garden of Letters’ is basically Carlos Ucedda in a nutshell. He’s an artist who pours everything into his work, and that drive and honesty are keenly felt in all his music.
As for the meaning behind ‘Garden of Letters’, it’s a track that sees Carlos reflecting on the holidays. “Moments that I would normally have and that should be pleasant are approaching. That’s the spirit of Christmas, although sometimes it’s not like that,” he says.
As if speaking directly to me, Ucedda’s message is bound to resonate widely. And, hey, if we’re feeling a little down this time of year, at least Carlos’ latest offering provides a shimmering soundtrack to lift our spirits!
