K I T Delivers Retro Pop Vibes In New Gem ‘When We Say Goodbye’

True artistry doesn’t fit into any boxes. Instead, it fluctuates. Drawing from different genres, it blends them and put them together through innovative solutions, eventually reaching a brand-new sonic aesthetic. Take Liverpool resident K I T, for instance. Channelling pop, folk and electronic influences, he’s not afraid to jump across a wide variety of attitudes and directions, preferring to focus on his own personal expression. This approach has paid off so far, with the singer and songwriter releasing a plethora of bangers, including ‘The Fire’ and ‘From The Earth To The Stars’.

The aforementioned blend of influences is described by K I T as a British take on American progressive pop. It makes sense, being Liverpool the city where a band called Beatles were listening to American radio while setting out to replicate its music. The young talent does the same: accompanied by producer and songwriting duo Rich Turvey and Mike Halls, he grabs charming slices of contemporary musical goodness, building a fitting sonic scenario for his evocative, anthemic vocals. ‘When We Say Goodbye’, K I T’s latest effort, is the perfect example of that.

Channelling a strong retro-pop aesthetic, the record leaves electronics behind, instead focusing on a poignant, organic arrangement, perhaps the perfect canva for the Liverpool artist to flourish on. K I T is a truly gifted artist you’ll want to discover, trust us. In a world where it’s getting more and more difficult to distinguish the legitimate from the fictitious, serve yourself a piece of authenticity.
