The keen reader might remember Vienna-based synth-pop outfit Lucy Dreams from a feature we published a couple of months ago, praising her cover rendition of ‘Do I Wanna Know?’, originally released by Artic Monkeys. Writing about it, we proudly declared it “an expansive and evocative jewel that wraps the listeners into a cathartic, meaningful listening experience”. We stand by our words: Lucy Dreams have the ability to build a rewarding, impressive fictional sonic universe, one that’s highly dreamy and uplifting.
Now, the talented duo returns with a multi-disciplinary offering, sharing an eclectic live set and equally luscious visuals to go with it – ‘SonicWaveArtPop (A Live Experience)’. Recorded in Gratz’s iconic music venue PPC, the live show features three tracks (two originals and a Weezer cover), alongside Lucy Dreams’ signature light ‘ball’, and a dark, mysterious set design completed by a hypnotising array of lights (courtesy of VISIOKRATIE). The footage has carefully been captured by KARMA+PITCH.
For references, ‘Lucy’ is actually a third band member, an AI-powered one (a world first!). Speaking about the live set, the group explains: “This project was a labour of love. The warm reception we’ve always received from Graz audiences made PPC the perfect place to film this session. The venue welcomed us back with open arms, and together, we created something truly extraordinary.”
