radikalhindu is the moniker of Indian-born, Santa Monica-based musician and producer Jay Mehta, and he’s just unleashed his third cracking single in the form of ‘For Us’. An upbeat, vibey, and seriously danceable track, ‘For Us’ was created for yup, you guessed it, everybody! “It’s a song for everyone just as the title suggests,” says radikalhindu. Expertly produced and craftily layered, one would never know that the tune was actually created in ten minutes with a pair of broken headphones. It makes me think that there’s something rather special about radikalhindu’s music-making abilities and that the best is still yet to come!
Mehta’s current focus is on dance and electronic music, but he plans to eventually change course to more artist-related features. “Think KAYTRANADA and Pharrel,” he says. With three banging releases already to his name, the world is radikalhindu’s oyster.
If I’m being honest, ‘For Us’ is a tune that, genre-wise, I haven’t really been exposed to much of. I’m grateful though that this track came across my desk so to speak, as I’ve had it on repeat ever since I first heard it. It’s fresh, cheerful, and just different. I know I speak on behalf of the whole team when I say that we can’t wait to hear what radikalhindu dishes up next!
