Beach Vultures Unleash Multifaceted Sophomore Single ‘Pocket’

Some would hear the phrase “DIY garage-rock duo” and think raw, unpolished, and gritty. The Melbourne-based duo known as Beach Vultures, however, are here to challenge that stereotype. Having successfully debuted last year with a fiery track called ‘Good Things’, the pair now return with ‘Pocket,’ a transportive and mesmerizing tune inspired by indie guitar icons.

Mixed by drummer Alan McTaggart, and featuring what the duo have labelled as “a mid-song fuzzy Jack White-inspired guitar solo,” ‘Pocket’ is a sonic smorgasbord of sounds and energies.

It’s a completely different aural experience compared to ‘Good Things’. There are hints of new-wave and shoegaze…Others might say alternative rock…Label it what you want I guess…The bottom line is Beach Vultures have crafted something very sonically special.

Inspired by artists like Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy, Fazerdaze, and Ty Segall, Matt and Alan’s sound is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Sure, they’re early on in their musical career, but they’re unquestionably one of the most exciting new indie acts to keep an eye (and ear) on.

With hopefully more magic up their sonic sleeves, Beach Vultures is an outfit we simply cannot wait to hear from again!
