Irish pop-rock duo One Flew Over are no strangers to our pages. Also, calling them purely a pop-rock outfit is doing them a disservice. Their sound is eclectic, soulful, and at times, almost bluesy. Tunes like ‘Not Good For Me’ and ‘Last Man Standing’ simply blew us away, and we are now honoured to share ‘The You Show’ with all you lovely people, the pair’s brand new single.
An uptempo and feel-good anthem, the duo turned to the likes of The Beatles (during their Abbey Road phase,) Teddy Swims, Eels, Arctic Monkeys, and Nina Simone for inspiration. It’s a beautifully diverse and wide-ranging set of influences, resulting in a track that’s as multifaceted as it is irresistible.
“The lyrics pulse with the thrill of the chase,” says Irene Ní Chuinn and Martin Quinn, reflecting on ‘The You Show.’ “They capture the exhilarating journey from discovery to triumph.”
As One Flew Over’s sixth official single to date, ‘The You Show’ showcases an act unafraid of venturing wherever the music takes them. That’ll always appeal to us at Mesmerized, as it shows the kind of artistic bravery that keeps music fresh and exciting. A downright superb outfit!
