Sure, we’re a little late to the party with ‘Golden Sunrise Of The Summerlands,’ but better late than never I always say! Courtesy of Kent-based singer/songwriter Christopher Parris, with Jennifer Lee Ridley on backing vocals, the laidback and folky tune is described by Parris as a “cosmic country song.” We can certainly get on board with that!
Infused with lush acoustic guitar tunings and an overall earthy feel, ‘Golden Sunrise Of The Summerlands’ is a groovy and, at times, almost experimental offering. It’s intricate and wonderfully layered – and reveals something new with every listen. The pair’s vocal harmonies are also utterly stirring, and seal the deal on a track that, in many ways, feels like a gentle embrace from another era.
“Higher vibrational music is dearly needed during these unfolding times,” says Christopher. “And a little bit of this can go a long way.”
Perhaps it’s just me, but I’ve found myself gravitating towards more hopeful and uplifting music lately. I think, like Christopher, that in this current state of global anxiety and uncertainty, songs like this are a much-needed anchor of positivity. Chris…We want more!
