Mono XL Unveils Synthy and Immersive Debut Album ‘Haze Collector’

‘Haze Collector’ is a super interesting and experimental eight-track offering from Spanish-born, London-based artist Mike de Lis, who performs under the moniker Mono XL. As the musician’s debut full-length album, ‘Haze Collector’ is a synthy, rocky, and ultimately genre-bending collection of tunes I’ve fallen deeply in love with. Inspired by the likes of David Bowie, Prince, Hot Chip, and Radiohead, Mono XL has crafted an innovative little record that I believe will stand the test of time.

‘I Fall’ is the album opener, and it’s the perfect scene-setter. Hazy and hypnotic, the rich and immersive track just gets better and better as its layers unfold. Sensational!

‘Another Day’ then steps up to the plate with more chewy and synthy goodness, before the guitar-driven, Spanish-sung, nearly six-minute epic that is ‘Ingenuos’ takes over your entire mind and soul.

‘World of Stone’ is a deeply haunting, intimate, and introspective offering, while the record’s single ‘Seconds to Destroy’ serves as an atmospheric and otherworldly exploration of sound.

This, my friends, is where I leave you to experience the remaining three songs on your own. Linger along the shorelines, dip your toes, or dive straight in. The choice is yours.
