It’s no secret that we really enjoyed ‘Telekinetic’. Praised by Mesmerized as “the perfect marriage between mainstream 80s hits and gloomy, melancholic new wave”, the track had the right amount of pop catchiness and leftfield intensity. Truth to be told, such an eclectic character is the foundational element behind Twice Dark. Hailing from Bloomington, Indiana, the nostalgic creative has been building a compelling artistic identity – one that we are happy to support.
Even from an aesthetic standpoint, Twice Dark maintains a rather authentic flavouring. It reminds us of Soft Cell: the British pop group had the same amount of wholesome, evocative energy and melancholic sentiment that the American musician also proudly champions. Continuing on his quest towards a full album in spring 2025, Twice Dark now unveils ‘Invisible Man’, a compelling dark synth-pop anthem with rather philosophical lyricism.
Reflecting on the fleeting nature of our collective memory, Twice Dark recognizes that we can’t truly be remembered forever, after our passing. We are all condemned to communal oblivion, no matter what we do. It’s a powerful realization, one that pushes the rising musician to make the most of the present moment, as the future is not guaranteed.
