Carley Varley Gears Up For Upcoming EP With Pop-Punk Gem ‘Better Without Me’

If you are looking for a powerful voice, you should probably turn your attention in the direction of Carley Varley, English musical talent with a knack for poignant songwriting and a charming style balanced over folk and rock. Boasting a strong singer-songwriter background, Varley possesses the artistic finesse required to paint a charged lyrical scenery, a place where listeners can reflect and perhaps find a piece of themselves in it.

The Bournemouth resident has been quite productive this year, pursuing a series of acoustic and more intimate recordings, taking a small break from her heavy and energetic nature. After having enjoyed two acoustic versions of past singles ‘Shore’ and ‘Fall’, Varley now reconnects with her beginnings, serving a fierce yet emotional dose of pop-punk, drenched in catchy melodies and emo vibes.

Titled ‘Better Without Me’, the record wants to anticipate the release of an upcoming EP later in the year. If the single is anything to go by, we are in it for a real treat! Introduced by guitar and vocals, ‘Better Without Me’ jumps straight into distorted guitars and large, vigorous drums, providing the perfect backdrop for Carley’s vocals to flourish. Her tone is particularly impressive: with a very wide dynamic range, she’s able to adapt to intimate moments as well as all-out choruses, delivering the song with authentic energy and passionate drive.

Overall, this a great record from Carley Varley, reminding us once again why she receives constant attention from the likes of BBC Introducing. There’s a star in the making here.
