Entering ReSeT’s artistic world is quite the treat! Built over ethereal electronic soundscapes and abstract textures, the work of Canadian multi-disciplinary creative Ryan Tram is incredibly mind-bending and unique, all characteristics that perfectly fit his impressive curriculum. Boasting extensive academic training – including a master in music tech from Berklee Valencia – the talented artist is now focusing his efforts on the latest album ‘Digital Voyage, Vol. 1’.
A lush and heavenly-sounding body of work, the record finds its sonic identity in bold hyper-pop stylings and fringe electronica, with spacious vocals drenched in a myriad of otherworldly effects. This gives the whole album a strongly futuristic outlook, and frankly, the listeners will take a while to familiarize themselves with such a groundbreaking collection of music. Behind the production, ‘Digital Voyage, Vol. 1’ also hosts a precise lyrical message, analysing metaphorical romantic themes within a fantasy, sci-fi universe.
As Tram explains: “It follows the story of Blue and Red and their closeness. During a fight between the two however Red finds themselves transported into a new digital world. The album talks about the feelings the two might have while being separated in unknown spaces”. Accompanying the album, ReSeT also shares a stunning trailer video, made in collaboration with his sister. It’s here that we can fully appreciate Ryan’s VFX expertise, the same expertise that gained him a place in Andrew Huang’s creative team.
