Naomi Campbell Shares Heartwarming Gem ‘Don’t You Mind’

Known for her powerful and evocative vocals, Naomi Campbell has enjoyed quite the evolution in the past few years. From her early Americana influences, she then embraced a wider soul and R&B character, a change that fits her very well. Evidence of that can be seen in the Liverpool-based songstress’ latest effort, the soothing, wholesome ballad ‘Don’t You Mind’.

The single is a heartwarming, poignant gem, perhaps the perfect match for a cold British autumnal evening. Campbell’s vocal tone is so impressive; extremely precise and malleable, wrapping the listeners in a blanket of shiny, lush energy – all with a comfortable undertone. What contributes to this feeling is perhaps the union of Naomi’s influences: from the raw, melancholic lyricism found in Americana to Soul’s more expressive, romantic references.

Overall, this feels like a step up for Campbell’s artistry. Constantly active in the Northern music scene, we hope to see more original releases coming from her, and frankly we are confident there’s a large audience that’s just waiting for it. How could they not? Such a majestic vocal tone! Speaking about the songwriting in ‘Don’t You Mind’, Naomi explains: “I wrote it in September last year reflecting on being able to share your troubles with your other half and letting them carry some of the weight.”
