After moving from New Jersey to Nashville, singer/songwriter Alex Hernandez, AKA Rocky Bottom, altered his sonic sails from his punk beginnings to a more rootsy, indie-rock vibe. A unique concoction of rock, soul, blues, country, and folk, Rocky Bottom’s sound feels somehow familiar yet also entirely his own.
‘Scary Movies’ is the artist’s brand new offering, and it’s a melodic, catchy, and upbeat little number that sticks in your head instantly. Described by Alex as “a love letter to horror movies and how they can be compared to everyday life”, the tune features spooky yet enticing keys and driving rhythms that rev up the eerie charm of the track.
The chorus is undoubtedly one of the most infectious I’ve heard in some time, and Hernandez’s vocal performance just seals the deal on a song that truly packs a punch.
