Cowbells, Grittiness and Tons of Swag: Meet Strangely Alright

Emerging from Tacoma, US, sound explorers Strangely Alright deliver psych and rocky vibes with enhanced charm. Championing a long career, their commitment to their art is remarkable: far from falling into cliches and over-used musical formulas, they seem to be striving towards authenticity, a mission we can gladly get on board with.

The band – priding themselves on a sound balanced between Pink Floyd’s extravaganza and The Beatles’ quirkiness – take a small step back in their new effort ‘Not The End’, focusing on a more gritty, classic rock outlook. Think cowbells, gritty guitars and tons of swag. They are cool, don’t you agree?

And so, between a Hammond organ and a bluesy piano, the record starts its glorious path to recognition. Final destination: your loyalty. Rhythmic guitars are strong here, instantly setting up a signature riff that we’ll encounter throughout the whole song. Drums are punchy, focusing on a steady beat, driving the track forward towards a chorus that’s as exciting as they come. Perhaps not the hardest rock, but definitely the most authentic one. Rock’n’Roll, baby!

Eventually, ‘Not The End’ is an absolute pleasure to listen to: familiar yet fresh, unapologetic yet friendly. We are into it!
