We’ll be honest with you: ‘WHITE HOT GASOLINE’ is an incredible record. Boasting an intriguing sonic livery, the track is a banging blend of indie rock playfulness and bluesy rowdiness, together with a punch of Americana and Country energy. The result is a piece that sounds fiery and cool, at least to our European ears. Hospital Class are the talented group behind such a strong release.
Hailing from the US (obviously), the band debuted earlier this year, and since then they have been very productive; a quick glance at their Spotify catalogue reveals an impressive number of singles, all drenched in the same crispy, fuzzy guitar tones and melancholic, casual vocals. ‘WHITE HOT GASOLINE’ represents another step forward for Hospital Class: the track sounds fuller and better (sparking a big contrast with the included alt-mix), but still retains the same rough edges that make it so fashionable and friendly.
Simon Sengun is the main creative force behind the project. Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, he explains: “This is my first single release from a future project and and introduction to the new Hospital Class sound featuring more Hi-Fi production, and roots and Americana influences. It’s the first step in a new direction and an interesting new sound for people’s ears”.
Hospital Class are gearing up for an upcoming album, expected early next year – stay tuned.
