It took us a while to fully decode Kevin Walsh’s artistry. You see, the talented Irish singer boasts a profile that’s pretty much unique, with expansive and poignant cinematic ballads treated in classical elegance and evocative, melodious vocals. Some might consider his output as ‘musical material’, but Kevin seems to have hypnotized a large, neutral audience, with listeners flocking in from every corner of the music spectrum.
Speaking of the spectrum, the Irish creative also has a peculiar origins story behind him. Being a non-verbal autistic child, he managed to pivot singing as a meaningful expressive tool, allowing him to bloom into a nuanced, impressive act. Today, Walsh unveils his latest effort, ‘Ruby’, the third piece he gifts the world after his 2022 debut ‘Embrace The World’. Built as an acoustic, delicate and moving anthem, the song is incredibly heartwarming, especially given Kevin’s expansive and complex vocal tone.
Speaking about the record, Walsh explains: “This song is part of an EP I plan to release next year. The music video for “Not a Dry Eye” was the pilot for that story, and this song carries it forward. The whole EP centres around that relationship. Long-term, my dream is to write a full musical movie based on this storyline.”
