Eraste Explores Unreciprocated Love in ‘Hold Me’

It’s not our first encounter with emerging American popstar Eraste, yet ‘Hold Me’ manages to renew our excitement towards the project. Built over a colourful and synth-flavoured production, the single sees Eraste delving into introspective and personal territories, embracing the melancholia that surrounds unmatched love and broken relationships. Committing to letting go of her feelings, the young talent empowers herself and any keen listeners to stay true and honest with themselves.

Taken from the project’s upcoming EP ‘Memory of Us’, ‘Hold Me’ could be seen as a new chapter in Eraste’s artistic career. In a way, it’s vivid and relatable, perhaps more than earlier releases. Production by British creative Sevenths gives the track an uplifting layer of textures, very fitting the song’s expansive and anthemic melodies.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Hold Me’, Eraste explains: “I start ‘Hold Me’ with the line ‘Back on my knees where I belong begging for somebody to stay’ because I have spent my entire life begging for anyone to like me, to listen to me, to love me the way that I love them. But, I realized that no matter what you do, sometimes it’s not enough.”
