Quarantine Beach Share Nuanced Gem ‘As If I Didn’t Know’

Reviving classic New Wave formulas, ‘As If I Didn’t Know’ showcases Quarantine Beach’s witty take on their music. Drenched in softness and evocative energy, the Dutch band manages to once again inspire listeners worldwide with a sonic character that’s incredibly charming and expansive. Built on light guitar tones and intricate drum grooves, ‘As If I Didn’t Know’ leaves ample space for vocals, making it a relatable and ‘popular’ effort.

You see, every band can put together a track, but not all can actually write a good song. There are nuances and differences in both cases, and Quarantine Beach are obviously proficient in their songwriting as they are in their skilled musicianship. Anthony Banks, Aimilia Theologi, Robin Eggers, and Mark Snijders are the talents behind the group.

Hailing from Rotterdam, the Dutch creatives seem to be en route to something great, and we’ll be here supporting them. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘As If I Didn’t Know’, they explain: “This song is written from the point of view of someone who understands the world a little bit too well for their own good. As with many bands that we admire, like The Smiths, this song tells a personal story with elements of tragedy in a way that also has hints of humour.”
