Holographic American Share Vibrant Post-Punk Album

A nuanced and intricate album, ‘The Grace of Animals’ is a record you should take your time to explore. It is not immediate, or poppy by any means. It is, however, pure and unfiltered, raw and approachable. Recorded live (so no funny multitrack business), ‘The Grace of Animals’ showcases Holographic American in all their post-punk glory.

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, the talented trio borders neighbouring genres, such as shoegaze and space-rock, but ultimately, it’s incredibly original and unique, making for a vibrant and lyrically meaningful listening experience. Featuring ten tracks, the album jumps from lush and sleazy gems such as ‘Dream Machine’ to punchier efforts such as ‘Incendio’. Opener ‘Grace of Animals’ is rather psychedelic in its execution, while ‘Schermata’ takes the record to a close in an electronic and dreamy fashion.

Overall, ‘The Grace of Animals’ deserves your attention. Holographic American are not here offering you ‘bops’, or ‘anthems’. They are offering you their true artistry, a fragmented view on themes such as faith (or lack thereof), insomnia, love, anarchism, and family. Not for the faint-hearted. Holographic American are Caleb Jose Tardio on guitar, Matthew Grizzell on drums, and Owen Pearson on bass.
