Hailing from Barcelona, Leo Golo has widely showcased his songwriting prowess. Through a series of releases earlier this year, the talented creative has consistently provided a stream of relatable pop gems, with romantic and relatable lyricism mixed with more uplifting episodes. Overall, Golo’s sonic outlook is rather eclectic, with his music jumping from nostalgic synth-pop matter to modern mainstream stylings.
Now, Leo enters afrobeat territories, although politely and with a distinctly popular flair. ‘Too Close’ is the track in question, a bouncy jewel with a stunningly catchy chorus and a short, yet hard-hitting outlook. Teaming up with fellow songstress ANGE, Golo delves into personal storytelling, unveiling the often painful side of human relationships and casual encounters.
The fourth single extracted from the project’s upcoming album, ‘Too Close’ is pop at its best – short, melodic and memorable. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Golo explains: “It is about a real experience I had with a boy. This boy was supposedly straight but kept giving me attention and getting a bit too close to me at parties. I used to enjoy that a lot until I was about to leave the party as single and alone as I arrived.”
