A happy accident or a ‘meant to be’ moment? We’ll never know for sure. What we do know, is that ‘Dog & Bone’ turned out to be one of Steve Young UK’s most incredible songs, and the track that brought him to our attention. Born out of a songwriting workshop in school, the single now finds a compelling acoustic version, thanks to Californian country singer Savannah Gardner and violin player Jade Cuthbert.
Recorded merely hours before a large festival show, ‘Dog & Bone’ in its current livery is an absolute treat, a playful yet nostalgic dive into Americana and Country territories, supported by a charming acoustic guitar and sympathetic fiddles. Plus, the many vocal harmonies transform the song into a sort of call-and-response anthem.
While a full band version of the track is expected in Young’s upcoming album ‘Famous For A Day’, the talented British musician has for now recorded a YouTube video for it, also showcasing Gardner and Cuthbert. By the way, Paul was the 1st person in the World to receive a dose of the new mRNA Cancer Trial drug. He was – in fact – famous for a day.
