Luce Unveil Eclectic Album ‘Blue Star Soft Eyes’

Marking the start of a new creative phase for Swiss eclectic project Luce, ‘Blue Star Soft Eyes’ is their compelling new album, a soft and nuanced journey into organic dream pop, alt-folk energy and evocative lyricism. Shifting from a solo outfit to a collaborative endeavour, Luce is now a band, with musician and songwriter Tiziana Greco still at its helm.

The Swiss songstress doesn’t waste the occasion and expands her influences, using the help provided by Aline Stadler (drums), Mirko Geiger (bass, vocals) and Beda Mächler (egit, vocals) to branch out into ethereal, bucolic territories, always with a strong playful quality. References are far and wide, from the Beatles-esque harmonies of ‘Holidays’ to the jungly rock of opener ‘Backwards’.

‘How’ is rather mysterious and cathartic, with long textures and spacious guitar tones. Bordering shoegaze territories, ‘Blue Star Soft Eyes’  reaches its peak with ‘Humming by Wires’, taking the record to a close with an intimate, meaningful ballad. Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, Greco explains: “In the summer of 2022 I went through some depressive episodes, where I hid a lot at home, felt constantly stuck.  When it came to writing a song I wanted to share those frustrations but at the same time lift myself a bit up and almost ironically “make it a happy song”.
