Downtown Patriots Celebrate World Mental Health Day

To the unsuspecting listener, ‘No One Needs To Know’ will definitely not sound like a Downtown Patriots’ record. It is indeed them, though. The English project, headed by musician and songwriter Danny Watts, decided to celebrate World Mental Health Day (October 10) with a dedicated song, a piece that’s intentionally far away from the group’s usual guitar-tinged material.

Recruiting vocalist Mace for her dreamy, soothing vocals, Downtown Patriots embark on an elegant and evocative ballad, a stunning composition built on warm, nostalgic piano tones and the cathartic energy of orchestral strings. With such a record, the British creatives delve deep into the intricacy of mental health, at a time when everyone seems to be suffering, in one way or another.

Speaking about the single, Downtown Patriots explain: “The song tells the story from the perspective of an inner demon.  Controlling, manipulating and being kept secret from within.  Like many people who suffer from mental health issues, this voice retains its anonymity and reminds its ‘host’ not to tell anyone that “I’ll be your little secret, no one needs to know”.
