Delivering bubbly electro-pop vibes with a touch of hyper-pop, singer Will Hutcheson hails from New York City, and he’s now debuting with an original offering, ‘Next to You’. There’s not a lot of complexity here: the single is a feel-good, fierce and empowering anthem, written on top of a kaleidoscopic, groovy and punchy instrumental, courtesy of producer Steven Shewbrooks. What matters though, is Hutcheson’s tone: precise, malleable vocals, given a slightly robotic feel from post-production effects. Eventually, the verdict is clear: a pop banger that would make for some epic car trips or a wild moment in a nightclub.
The record is driven forward by Valiant Horizon, an Atlanta-based record with a holistic approach to good music. It is thanks to them that we can appreciate the evocative voice of Will Hutcheson.
We are confident that ‘ Next to You’ will instantly connect with listeners worldwide. After all, the song touches on a theme we are all familiar with, bad habits. Will wants to shed a light on the feeling of doing something we know it’s bad for us, but that we can’t refrain from doing. And he does so with a wonderful song, an excellent exercise in mainstream pop that showcases his underappreciated talent.
Hoping to hear more in the future! Recommended.
