They might have only two records released to their name, but Plastic Heart have plenty showcased what they are made of. ‘Tension’ is their latest effort, following up on last year’s ‘Giver of stars’. The keen reader will start noticing a pattern between the two tracks; evocative, anthemic alt-rock with a certain emo character to it. An electrifying identity that keeps us on our toes, and yet it makes us dream and reflect.
‘Tension’ is the perfect evidence of that. Punchy and cathartic in its chorus, the single blends alt-rock extravaganza with the group’s luscious melodies. Front woman Naomi Schofield’s vocal tone is powerful and expressive, capturing the listeners’ attention while delivering intriguing storytelling. The expert production by Andy Gannon helps the piece reach its full potential.
Hailing from Manchester, Plastic Heart seem to have all the right chards to leave a lasting impact on the British alternative scene, which has been quite bubbly for the past few years, eager for new material.
