Donnie Returns with Vibrant Single ‘SIREN’

A refreshing take on modern pop, ‘SIREN’ is incredibly dynamic and vibrant, offering a slice of sunny artistic euphoria to an otherwise gloomy September. Penned by London-based songstress Donnie, the record follows up from ‘Thousand Miles’, a single that was incredibly hazy and evocative. ‘SIREN’ takes a different approach, leaving poignancy behind in favour of grooves and playfulness.

We are on board: in a world that’s overly dark, tracks such as ‘SIREN’ offer a well-deserved relief. That said, the song still contains a good amount of magic and mystery, showcasing Donnie’s ability to write positive anthems with a distinct nostalgic component. The melodies are catchy and relatable, the perfect match for the young talent’s luscious and precise vocals. The chorus is pretty glorious by the way, really doubling up on the track’s Amapiano component.

Such a bouncy and lively groove helps ‘SIREN’ place itself in front of a wider public, something that will certainly pay off in the long run. The song was inspired by the many carefree moments spent by Donnie on a beach and at the sea. As she explains: “Spending so much time on the island, I felt this natural shift in my music. I wanted to create something that feels like summer; something people can vibe to by the beach, or just when they want to escape.”
