Clara Pople Shares Vibrant Gem ‘Hot Moon’

It’s hard having to write about ‘Hot Moon’, because frankly, I would love to just listen to it, enjoying the cathartic and evocative vibes provided by Clara Pople. A moving and vibrant effort, the record is one of the best things I have heard recently: from its eclectic and expansive production, built on hazy vocal samples and heartwarming tones, to luscious, elegant vocals oscillating between soulful charisma and pop prowess.

Hailing from London, Pople is constantly raising her artistic profile, having now amassed a sizeable catalogue since the release of last year’s debut EP ‘It’s The Girl’. One thing I appreciate about the project is Clara’s ability to decline meaningful songwriting in a truly musical sense, crafting pieces that engage both the brain and the senses. Not everyone achieves that.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Hot Moon’, Pople explains: “This is my empowerment anthem for all women and people who can feel overpowered by the forces of nature. Hot Moon is a song about the ebbing and flowing tides of being a woman. How nature can control our mood and how, whilst infuriating, we just have to give in sometimes and let the madness take over.”
