We wrote about Bosola a long time ago, featuring their EP ‘Thoman & Judas’, described as “raw and honest”. Now, we are pleased to be able to cover the group’s latest effort, ‘vanilla beige’, an electrifying and noisy punk-adjacent anthem showcasing the growth and maturity enjoyed by the project. Leaving behind their Britpop influences, the Newcastle band delves deeper into post-punk and rebellious songwriting, layering fuzzy guitars over punchy drums and collective vocals.
Introduced by an all-out drum groove, ‘vanilla beige’ rallies around abstract distortions and fierce rock flair, before presenting the group’s saturated vocal tone, a perfect match for such a sharp and charismatic record. Clocking in at three minutes and a half, the single wraps the listeners into euphoric and chaotic energy, making it impossible not to vibe hard with Bosola’s musical extravaganza.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, the British project explain: “It’s a song about muted rage, mental illness and trauma in a society that straitjackets people into a life of emotional avoidance, masking and surface-level conformity.”
