Natalie Clark Showcases a Mellower Side with ‘Iced Tea’

If ‘A Place Called Home’ was uplifting and anthemic, Clark’s latest effort ‘Iced Tea’ is more nuanced, exploring a different side of the American songstress. Boasting a prominent catalogue of near-perfect pop tunes to her name, Los Angeles-based Natalie Clark has always had a knack for relatable melodies and meaningful songwriting, something that’s clearly put to work in ‘Iced Tea’.

Created in collaboration with Todd Spadafore, the single is spacious and hazy, something that’s not too common for Clark. While we got used to punchy production and clear vocals, Natalie now invites us into a decisively more reflective space, although ‘Iced Tea’ still retains the playful outlook that’s so peculiar to the project.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Clark explains: “I wrote the song as summer was approaching, and I wanted to create a dreamy, summery world for people to escape to when they listened to the song. I wanted the listener to feel that soothing, comforting, warm feeling on a summer’s day – laying on a beach or by a pool, sipping cold iced tea.”
