Seattle-based newcomers La Need Machine came bouncing into my world earlier this year with the release of their sweet little indie-rock track ‘These Old Jeans’. Labelling it as “a deeply nostalgic piece of music,” it was and remains one of my favourite discoveries of the year. And, with over 177,000 plays on Spotify, it’s clear I wasn’t the only one to fall in love with the tune.
Having kept a close eye (and ear) on the outfit ever since – I am now honoured to share the band’s most recent offering ‘The Mountain’ with you. Dispensing the universal message of “to give is to receive,” ‘The Mountain’ is a genre-bending gem that fuses elements of indie and folk rock with hints of Americana and country. Simple in nature yet rich in emotion and beautifully layered, it’s a song that delivers a powerful and timeless experience.
“In addition to being a moral lesson, the concept of ‘it’s better to give than to receive’ is actually good for us all,” says La Need Machine. “A large quantity of scientific research shows that generosity has a wide range of benefits”.
This outfit just keeps getting better and better with each new piece of music they bring forth. I can’t get enough of their sound, and eagerly await to hear what they have next in store!
