Fore Fader Return with Symphonic Masterpiece ‘Firestarter’

You may remember us falling completely in love last year with a tune called ‘The Rains’. Presented by the Los Angeles-based alternative-folk duo Fore Fader, the warm and ethereal track was our first glimpse into Stephanie Carlin and Carey Clayton’s work – and we’ve been hooked ever since. Having steadily released a bunch of impressive singles, today we are thrilled to share ‘Firestarter’ with you, Fore Fader’s most recent offering.

Enveloping the listener in what the pair have called “a captivating waterfall of synth and lush harmonies,” ‘Firestarter’ is a symphonic piece of music that, like ‘The Rains,’ completely sweeps up all who hear it. Deeply entrancing and absorbing, it’s a highly experimental song that takes a few listens before one can fully appreciate its layered depth.

Dealing with the spiritual death we must all take to be reborn, ‘Firestarter’ continues Fore Fader’s quest of ex-communication with the material world. Embracing both light and dark to reach a deeper truth, the tune (and the duo’s work in general) offers a profound reflection on the journey between the sacred and the mundane.

Stephanie and Carey are undeniable musical visionaries. Their art continually pushes the envelope, and we can’t wait to hear what they get up to next.
