Evelyn Unveils Personal New Album ‘Someday We Will Eat a Feast of Light’

Apart from being a contender for album title of the year, ‘Someday We Will Eat a Feast of Light’ is also the stellar debut record from Hudson Valley-based singer/songwriter Dani Lencioni, AKA Evelyn. An intimate nine-track offering that captures the complexity of modern life, where abstract struggles coexist with profound beauty and an enduring sense of hope, ‘Someday’ is a genius statement of artistic vision.

‘Ego Death’ kicks things off delicately and dreamily, imagining a funeral for one’s ego, complete with bad coffee and an open casket. It’s the perfect tone-setter for what’s to come.’I’m A Dog’ then follows and gives off indie-folk vibes with sprinklings of gentle pop goodness thrown in for good measure.

‘Vows’ is a tune where Evelyn’s magnificent vocals come into sharp focus, and you begin to realise just how talented a musician she truly is, before ‘The Pines’ bursts in with the most upbeat and rocky offering of the album. Though, ‘Practice’ might have something to say about that.

Other personal favourites include ‘Sound of Your Voice’ and ‘Alive & Whole’, but to be honest, it’s a record that should be absorbed in its entirety. It’s pure bliss and brilliance from start to finish!
