Pat Cheiban, AKA First Umpire, Delivers Eclectic Double-Sided Debut ‘I’m Here / I’ll Wait’

Based out of Brooklyn, First Umpire is the eclectic musical project of Lebanese-American producer and multi-instrumentalist Pat Cheiban. After collaborating with noticeable artists and playing guitar for the band A Beacon School, Pat decided it was time to embark on a solo adventure, and thus, First Umpire was born.

The project’s debut release is a double-sided single titled ‘I’m Here / I’ll Wait,’ and was released to the world last month. Starting with ‘I’m Here,’ what greets the listener is a laidback and almost psychedelic soundscape. It doesn’t take long, however, for things to get a little post-punky and raw. With heartfelt vocals and pounding drum work, the tune takes on a new sonic dimension, showcasing a captivating mix of mellow textures and gritty energy that reflects Pat’s diverse musical influences.

‘I’ll Wait’ is another immersive and sonically fascinating number. With a runtime of just over two minutes, it delivers a compact yet rich auditory experience. Blending atmospheric sounds with a punchy drive, it once again proves that this musician is not afraid to explore uncharted musical territories.

With a full album in the works, we can’t wait to hear from First Umpire again!
