Adamant about the wide range of influences and genres he plans to include, Manchester-based musician Zack Bamber crafts an impressive project under the moniker META CITY FUTURE. Using quirky and slick guitar tones with exotic and Brazilian-flavoured rhythms, the British creative manages to write material that’s familiar, yet deeply refreshing, eventually bathing in the indie and post-rock landscape with strong charisma.
‘all over the world’ is the perfect evidence of that. META CITY FUTURE’s latest effort, the track sees Bamber teaming up with gifted singer FINOLA on a song that might appear simple on the surface, yet it’s very complex in its fabric. From the playful and mangled guitar riffs to the apparent minimalism, ‘all over the world’ benefits from a series of textures and details that highly enrich its sonic recipe.
Speaking about the lyrical inspiration behind the single, META CITY FUTURE explains: “It’s a whacky track about backing yourself in going your own way and looking for deeper meaning in a shallow and materialistic world, and looking that world in the eye while you plant your flag on the top of the mountain”.
