Going by the artist moniker B. Christo, the Detroid-based talent behind the project has a pretty peculiar and poignant story to share. Aiming to inspire listeners with his raw and punchy lyricism, Christo navigates hip-hop territories using the resilience and experience he gained by going through what not many would have survived. Involved in a tragic accident, he took a bullet to the brain, which miraculously did not leave any major damage – except for permanent blindness.
Such a shocking yet powerful experience pushed Christo closer to Christian faith, while still leaving room for pursuing music. He does so with pure authenticity, simply speaking his mind on the ups and downs of life, from a pretty unique and meaningful perspective. ‘The ghetto gospel’ is the American rapper’s latest effort, an evocative and playfully groovy anthem with fast and flashy bars, showcasing B. Christo’s slick vocals.
Speaking about his artistic mission, he explains: “My existence is truly a miracle and this body of works that I’m creating is the ghetto gospel itself. Perfectly imperfect just like the creator made me just one of profits, fully immersed in Cristos, anointed and consciousness, perfectly imperfect, but far from a hypocrite.” Look out for some more releases that are expected later this year.
