Madame Psychosis Return with Latest Effort ‘Foxtail’

We are firm supporters of Canadian outfit Madame Psychosis. Writing about their previous effort ‘Charlie’s Story’, we proudly declared it “an intense and lyrically dark gem showcasing the band’s valuable songwriting”. It’s true: next to their eclectic rock-pop character, the Toronto-based group also places strong attention to their lyricism, often built on topical and meaningful themes.

‘Foxtail’ confirms it all! Madame Psychosis’ latest offering, the record is rather uplifting and energetic, yet with a truly authentic and functional message. Openly challenging the modern ‘hustle culture’, the band reminds the listeners that work is not the only important thing in life and that one must find time for loved ones, or simply experience anything that truly connects with us. Such an empowering song is delivered over playful drum grooves and fuzzy guitars, the perfect match for lead vocalist Michelle Mondesir’s evocative and punchy tone.

Delving deep into the inspiration behind the single, she explains: “I started really thinking about how much of our lives we spend having to work at a job that for many of us is not fulfilling but ‘pays the bills,’ and how much we’d prefer following our passions or being with loved ones.”
