Josefine Neumann Shares Stunning Album ‘My Greatest Fears’

Introduced by a delightful acapella section (‘How’), ‘My Greatest Fears’ instantly reveals its greatest asset: Josefine Neumann’s stunning vocals, deeply evocative and nuanced. Hailing from the US, the up-and-coming songstress champions sonic minimalism and lyrical poignancy, penning feathery pieces that are light yet emotional. The album confirms it.

‘Soon Enough’ invites us into Neumann’s fragile artistic universe, layering a heart-warming guitar with nostalgia-laden songwriting. What follows stays on the same theme, although the record’s character changes often from melancholic to hopeful and anthemic. The arrangement remains truly stripped-back, crowning Josefine as a gifted alt-folk and pop entity. What’s more impressive is that the record is fully self-produced and written by the artist herself.

And, she’s 16 years old! There’s a great deal of maturity in ‘My Greatest Fears’ – it’s a clean, focused album, showcasing the massive degree of self-reflection and musical prowess Neumann has to offer. Speaking about her artistic journey, she explains: “As I wrote and recorded more songs, and built up enough confidence to begin sharing them, it seemed like people connected with them”.
