‘The Beginning’ is the brand new album courtesy of Polish-Belgian artist JoBee Project, a versatile and rather complex musician who we recently stumbled upon. Having previously dabbled in the jazz arena and fronted a punk group when she was fifteen, JoBee Project now turns her attention to electronic alternative pop. Embracing a variety of melodies and rhythms with her no-nonsense attitude, JoBee’s ‘The Beginning’ is one of the most dreamy and intricate albums I’ve heard this year.
‘Burning Sense’ kicks off proceedings and sets the tone beautifully for the journey we are about to go on. A synthy and atmospheric piece that reminds me of early Röyksopp, the dreamy tune is an absolute stunner.
‘Between the lines’ then sucks us into JoBee’s peaceful world even further with an inventive arrangement and another stellar vocal performance from the artist.
‘Amber Tears’ stands out for its use of fast-paced drums, and ‘BIRTH OF THE STAR’ is quite possibly the most luscious track on the entire record.
‘Little Blue’, ‘Genesis’, and ‘#HereWeAre’ complete ‘The Beginning’, and they’re three songs that I’m going to leave you to discover all on your own. Enjoy!
